Portraits
Through the innovative use of ice as a painting medium, this collection explores the 'lived sensation' of the human face. The unpredictability of the melting ice introduces a layer of vulnerability to the portraiture, mimicking the way feelings ripple across a countenance. My objective is to create a space where the structured features of the face are challenged by the fluid, chaotic patterns left behind by the water. This duality allows the viewer to experience the human form not as a static image, but as a fluid entity constantly redefined by its environment.
